Caught between an ear for jazz and the sounds of the scrappy Vancouver indie scene,
Chris Kitto is still trying to figure it out.

Driven by chorus twinged guitar licks, a growling voice, and an art school attitude, his music fulfills a desire within indie head circles for tightly woven and intricate music. And Kitto proves that even complex music can still be danceable.

Chris grew up in the Kootenay region of B.C. Canada began songwriting with a desire to replicate his musical heroes Alex G and Will Toledo. Chris relocated to Vancouver in 2022 to pursue a degree in Jazz Performance.

2024 was a particularly tumultuous year for Chris. In May of that year, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. It was likely because of this adversity he suddenly came back to songwriting with hope it would provide the same solace it had given him in high school.

After nearly 2 years of treatment, Chris is now in remission and preparing to release his first project. Chris feels privileged to be a part of a new growing rock music culture with acts unafraid to draw influence from other sources and incorporate new sounds. He draws particular influence from the likes of Black Country, New Road, Geordie Greep, and Yvette Young.
